The AST Dew Tour is rolling across the country and the second stop, the Right Guard Open was just as exciting as fans hoped.
The Right Guard Open, the second stop on the AST Dew Tour took place July 17-20 in Cleveland, OH. The skillful riding and fierce competition that was demonstrated during the opening stop in Baltimore continued throughout the second stop. Among the benchmark tricks performed during the Right Guard Open was Mike Spinner landing the first ever quad whip. The four-day event brought together an impressive array of former Dew Cup winners and acclaimed athletes from around the world. Among the competitors in Cleveland was Shaun White, who missed the first stop due to an injury. Also, fourteen-year-old Chaz Ortiz who did well in what was only his second pro competition, finishing just .05 points behind the winner. The AST Dew Tour, which debuted in 2005, is the largest multidiscipline action sports tour in the US. The tour consists of five stops across the country in which athletes earn cumulative points and vie for a share of the $2.5 million competitive purse, and an additional $1 million bonus pool. Each stop along the tour features skateboarding (park and vert), BMX (park, vert, and dirt) and freestyle motocross. At the end of the season the competitor who has accumulated the most points in each of the six disciplines are awarded the prestigious Dew Cup.
