In the constant quest to go further and longer, while taking along their favorite music, athletes are always on the look for a product that can help them accomplish that goal. Now, Freestyle Audio offers an MP3 player that promises to help you “Take Your Music There”, even if your idea of “there” involves water.
The Freestyle Audio MP3 player is a lightweight, waterproof, shockproof digital music player that is also submersible up to 10 feet. What makes the Freestyle Audio MP3 player stand out is that this player is very compact and ultra lightweight. At less than 1.3 ounces (35 grams), you hardly notice that you’re carrying it. Don’t let the lightweight construction fool you though, this player has a fairly sturdy casing. Although I didn’t take up the offer to drop it from several floors up, I put it through more than the normal amount of wear and tear. So far, the player is in just as good of shape as when I first opened the box. , Another bonus with the lightweight design, this MP3 player floats. No need to worry about losing your music if you wipe out in the water. Just check the surface!
What about memory? The Freestyle Audio MP3 player offers 1 GB of built-in flash memory and can hold up to 320 songs in MP3 format (it can also store files other than music). Music can be easily downloaded via USB interface and the player is compatible with both PC’s and Mac’s.
The battery offers over 30 hours of playtime and can be recharged with either a USB cable or with an AC adaptor, which can be purchased separately.
The Freestyle Audio MP3 player comes with sport earbuds, waterproof earbuds with adjustable ear wraps and three different sized ear pieces. The sport earbuds are rigid and I found them to be uncomfortable and prone to falling out with activity. The waterproof earbuds are comfortable and provide a great seal within the ear. As seems to be the case with waterproof headphones in general, the best sound is achieved while you are actually in the water. In a dry environment, or before getting into the water, the music has a tinny sound quality. Once the water helps to seal the buds in place though, the sound quality improves and seems to surround you. The MP3 player also comes with a USB cable and a neoprene arm band. The arm band is comfortable, I didn’t notice anything scratching or poking at my skin, however if your arms are well muscled/large the arm band may be a tight fit.
The Freestyle Audio Waterproof MP3 player is available for $99.99 at target.com. To order online or to find a retailer near you visit the Freestyle Audio website.
