The 2008 Debut of a New MotoX Championship Riding Event

For those of you who love Moto X action and seeing all of your favorite riders together, the Navy Moto X World Championships may be just what you've been looking for.

For those of you who love motocross and can’t get enough of your favorite riders there is a new event for you to look forward to each year. The inaugural season of the Navy Moto X World Championships will take place on Saturday April 14 and Sunday April 15, 2008. This event is set to kick off at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, CA with as many as 85 of your favorite motocross riders in attendance.

Invited Riders...Among the invited riders are motocross legends and fan favorites including Travis Pastrana, Ricky Carmichael, Carey Hart, Jeremy Stenberg, Brian Deegan, Nate Adams and Mike Mason. All riders are highly regarded X Games competitors and well known to motocross fans around the globe. These motocross favorites have over 30 X Games medals between them as well as being some of the most innovative riders in the business. New riders will be announced in March and they are sure to be as exciting as those that were named during the first round. The riders will be competing for $450,000 in prize money. An event-specific selection committee has picked all of the invited riders.

Events and Schedule...Riders will compete in one or more of the scheduled events. Those events are Best Trick, Freestyle, Moto X Racing, Speed & Style, Step Up and SuperMoto. All events will take place at Qualcomm stadium.

The competition schedule (which is subject to change) is as follows:

Saturday-

9:30-10:30 (PST) AMA SuperMoto 250s, Unlimited, 450s Final

12:00-1:00 SuperMoto Final

1:00-2:00 Best Trick Final

2:00-3:00 Step Up Final (Part I)

3:00-4:00 Speed & Style Final

Sunday-

12:00-2:00 Freestyle Elimination

2:00-3:00 Step Up Final (Part II)

3:00-4:00 Moto X Racing Final

4:00-5:00 Freestyle Final

Tickets have already gone on sale for the Navy Moto X World Championships. Tickets are available for $10, $20 and $25. With the $20 and $25 tickets you will also get a pit pass. Discounts are available for military personnel. There is also a 2-day “Moto Mayhem” bundle package available. There is also a tailgate package that includes RV parking and for the event. If you can’t make it to San Diego for the Navy Moto X World Championships you can still catch all of the exciting action. This years event will be broadcast live on ESPN/ESPN HD and ESPN 2 on Saturday April 14 (1:00-4:00 PST) and Sunday April 15 (12:00-5:00).
