New to the Games: For the 2007 Games, Snowmobile Freestyle will make its debut. Ten riders will take to the course, demonstrating their skills and tricks. According to the X Games press release, “the variety of jumps will allow the riders to showcase the full arsenal of tricks that the sport Snowmobile Freestyle has to offer.”

This sounds like an awesome, rocking good time! I'd love to see those moto-tricks.

Great article!

Got to love this. It's good to see some of the craziness escape the cold country. Snow Xcross is huge here. Wish we still had WESC at the pass. If I had the leave available, Aspen would be a good trip for this event.

I think it's going to be an amazing year at Winter XG if you can make it. Unless you're staying right in Aspen though, don't try to drive in. You WON'T find a place to park. Luckily, the Aspen/Snowmass area has a great transit system with routes to the surrounding areas. You can stay just about anywhere and catch a bus to Buttermilk Mountain resort.

i repsonded to your poll, but don't think it's fair. i don't prefer skiing to snowboarding one way or the other - just love to watch the "cross" competitions, no matter if it's skier-cross or boarder-cross. cross comps are probably the best thing that the freeskiing/riding community has brought to the planet: no timing, no stule points, just get there.

Sorry, Mitch. It seemed like the best way to divide them at the time. I do love the all-out race to the finish events as well, they leave no doubt about who's in first

Lyle Stratton :
Be watching - "THE WEST COAST MAN" - "JEFF SNOW" will be in the medals. His aggresive style and constant pressure will put him in front. Out west we don't ride horses, we ride CATS.

I'll be there and I'll be looking for him! What is your prediction? Any medal or are you set on gold?
