The X Games are over. We definitly saw some of the biggest tricks and most amazing wins in X Games history. Here are highlights and results from the X Games XII.
X Games XII provided fans with amazing action and some of the biggest tricks ever pulled in action sports history. Extreme sports fans gathered in LA from August 3-6 for the 12th installment of the X Games.
Two new events debuted this year; BMX Big Air and Rally Car. In addition to the excitement of the new events, anticipation was high for the big tricks that were rumored to be attempted.
Travis Pastrana satisfied the speculation when, on his second run in MotoX Best Trick, he pulled the first ever double back flip in competition history. As amazing as it turned out, Travis said "I hope I never have to do it again." He wasn't talking about winning the gold though, Travis went on to compete in three more events (SuperMoto, MotoX Freestyle, and Rally Car) and win two more gold medals.
Shaun White was also under a lot of speculation. The US Olympic Gold Medalist had already pulled a 1080° on snowboard and everyone was eager to see if he would be able to duplicate it on skateboard. During the Skateboard Best Trick competition, Shaun made 18 attempts at the 1080 (three complete rotations), coming so close but couldn't quite finish it off. Shaun deserves major respect for the level of determination he showed.
