I know, I know. I promised to cover more than adventure racing. I'm working on my next article, which isn't about AR but I want to share my experience with Primal Quest as well. I'll be updating the blog site periodically in case any one is interested from an insiders point of view.
This is my first trip as a writer and I'm thrilled to be covering something as amazing as Primal Quest . I have no idea what I'm in store for but I trust that it'll be awesome!
I received some initial information from organizers today to help me prepare. Now I need to stock up on some essentials and think realistically about what I'm up against: heat, sun, bugs, heat, sun and heat.
My greatest fear is that I'll be so obviously new at this that I'll be the running joke among the other media! Inevitably I'll ask a stupid question or ruin someone's shot. Then, I'll spend the rest of the morning shivering in fear in a corner of the bathroom.
There is good news for me though. I found out this morning that my good friend (and favorite photographer) Sandy will be going with me. At least I'll have someone to huddle in the corner with!
In addition to the heat and sun I expect to meet some amazing people and see extraordinary things. Maybe we'll find a nice group of seasoned AR reporters and try to leech off of their experience.
I want to make sure and thank Robyn for agreeing to the first interview. You rock, girl! And I want to thank Gordon at PQ for his help!
Now, if you happen to be at Primal Quest Utah and you see a fluffy girl with a dumbstruck look on her face, come on over and say hello, or push me out the path of danger!
Until then kids...
